In the last few months before Sam’s passing in 1994, the artist created a brilliant group of 152 paintings filled with passion and joie de vivre. Combined, they are a retrospective of his painting career. Each shines with the life and exuberance that has made Sam’s work so enduring.
In honor of the publication of “Sam Francis: Catalogue Raisonné of Canvas and Panel Paintings, 1946-1994,” Jonathan Novak Contemporary Art is delighted to present a substantial selection from this important body of work.
